Nintendo announced early this morning (like, 7 AM PST early) a Nintendo Direct will be held tomorrow at 7 AM PST regarding “details about previously announced games for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.”
Mixed feelings: I haz them. One part of me is all “YAY MORE NINTENDO NEWS!” but the other is like, “DUDE WE NEED NEW TITLES ANNOUNCED!” So, yeah. That’s where I stand. I mean, it’s hard not to feel that way after reading about Nintendo’s pathetic worldwide sales of 160,000 Wii U units between the beginning of April and end of June. To put that into perspective, the Gamecube was selling more units at this point in it’s cycle, at a time when the industry was much smaller. Also, the Wii outsold the Wii U during the aforementioned months. YIKES!
But alas, I remain optimistic that Nintendo can turn its shit around. Sure, it might take, erm, an extended period of time to do so, but hey. LET’S KEEP ON A HAPPY FACE. After all, it would be nice to hear some news about Smash Brothers, that Shin Megami tensei/Fire Emblem shindig and others. What about you, though? What do you think about the Nintendo SNAFU?
