I Would Spend Too Much Time On This Character Creation Screen

Oh man. I definitely appreciate a thorough character creation screen, but it’s SUUUCH a life sucker. I mean, the way it is I spend too much time nitpicking and tweaking the tiniest details on my character — only to realize they don’t look much different than the original model, I might add — so to even think of the amount of time I’d spend on Black Desert’s character creation shenanigans is mind boggling. (FYI, ever since watching DBZ I try to insert “mind boggling” whenever possible. Even if it doesn’t make sense. It’s kinda…mind boggling. DERRRPDJKFDJSL)

“SHE NEEDS MORE THIGH FAT!”

“THE LEFT PUPIL NEEDS TO BE A RED STAR!”

“THIS STRAND OF HAIR NEEDS TO FLOAT OUT FURTHER THAN THE REST!”

“BAGGIER EYES! WE NEED BAGGIER EYES!”

“WHERE SHOULD I PLACE THIS MOOOOOLE?!!!!”

Yeah. It would be pretty intense. How much time do you spend creating a character?

  1. I spend virtually no time in character creation, if I don’t go with a general default option, I go with one of the presets for each feature, never spending more than a couple minutes on it. After all, in most games where it’s an option, you’re just gonna end up wearing a helmet or something.

  2. Oh god, I’d have a field day!

I’ve never heard of this game until now, but it looks surprisingly fun. Scared to get into an MMORPG though.

  3. good god, this thing is just barely a step removed from them just giving you a copy of 3DS max and saying “have at it hoss.” I do really like the idea of having this sort of manipulatable face patches instead of sliders like in Skyrim. Actually something like this would make an awesome skyrim mod…
This character creation engine gives my perfectionist nerd a raging mind boner.
