Ratchet & Clank The Movie

MORNING. MADE.

Animation studio Rainmaker Entertainment has joined forces with Blockade Entertainment to bring you the above awesomeness, and I quote: “…a CG-Stereoscopic animated theatrical feature film based on the bestselling PlayStation® video game franchise and developed by acclaimed game developer Insomniac Games.” Production is already underway, and rest assured the film will feature the game’s main voice actors!

According to the press release, “Ratchet and Clank tells the story of two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind – a foolhardy ‘lombax’ who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way they’ll learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one’s own identity. ”

While I haven’t dabbled into the Ratchet & Clank games myself, I appreciate the sense of humor, history and most importantly, the weapon options (CHYEAH!)  the franchise brings to the industry. So yes, I’m stoked!

  1. I hardly ever see movies in theaters (I’m not much of a movie watcher in general, and when I do it’s usually at home), but I am definitely going to see this one. I’ve played every game in the series except for the most recent one (I even played the crappy mobile game), so I guess you could say I’m a pretty huge fan. If there’s ever been a series that’s long overdue for a film adaptation it’s definitely this one.

It just sucks that we have to wait until 2015.
