Britt5091 Origins: A picture is worth 368 words

Welcome to Britt5091: Origins, where I dig up old blog posts I used to write for IGN’s community under the username Britt5091. Some posts may make you giggle, some may make your eyes bleed, and some may make you stroke your beard in a pensive manner. All you need to know is that these posts, no matter how terrible some of them may be, ultimately lead to everything I do now.

#1: My little white box has been bathing my living room with its pulsing blue light for weeks now. I should update it, but I’ve heard that some Wiis have been bricking because of it. Then there was something about how the only systems affected were those that were modded with the homebrew, but then there were the Wii owners that said their system was bricking and they didn’t have the homebrew, so I dunno what to do. One would think Nintendo would release another update if it was affecting ALL systems, in which case I would feel safe about updating, but I haven’t heard of one. Have you guys heard of anything or had any troubles?

#2: I FOUND IT! I was as stoked as a sugar high cracked out 5 year old at Chuck E. Cheese in the ball pit when I found my DSi under my driver’s seat. I could have SWORN I had checked there a million and a half times, but apparently I always came up a day late and a dollar short in my reach. Now that I’ve found it, it has sat neglected on my table for a week.

#3: Where do I begin? I completed this game yesterday (Uncharted 2). Don’t worry, there are no spoilers here. It was amazing and, in my opinion, whole heartedly deserves the 9.5 rating given to it by IGN, and all the other stellar reviews by other sites and magazines. I never wanted to stop playing; the story is so gripping one cannot put the controller down. That was one of Naughty Dog’s goals with Among Thieves, and damnit they did a great job. To those picking it up, enjoy.

#4: Because I already have Uncharted 2, I will be getting Brutal Legend tomorrow. Now it comes down to this; which platform? I always struggle to make a decision when it comes to picking out a multiplatform game (anyone else?). For whatever reason, I think I’m leaning towards the 360. Why? No idea whatsoever. Are you guys picking up Brutal Legend? If so, for which platform? I know there is a multiplayer component so if a lot of ya’ll sway a certain way, that might help make my decision!

And on a side note…

Happy Monday!

Update: July 30th, 2012

That poor DSi has now been neglected for, like, ever. I can’t even remember the last time I turned it on. I wonder if still works. The insides are probably dust-ridden and the internal battery is probably corroded. Unfortunate.

Also, LOL to Brutal Legend :/ that’s another game of mine that has sat neglected for-freaking-ever.

And finally, I do NOT miss that apartment.
