Let’s be real – there’s not another medium out there, besides that of the video game medium, that can capture the terror, charm and amazingness that is Resident Evil. Knowing AND understanding that lil’ fact of life has really allowed me to enjoy the Resident Evil films. I’ve seen ’em all at least three times each aaaaaand I suspect that ultimately the same will happen with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

There’s a rumor going around that some of the staple RE characters (Jill, Leon, etc.) aren’t gonna be in this film because of budget cuts. I haven’t looked into that, because I wanna be as surprised as possible, but HEY.

Can it be January 2017 yet? Please?

Ughhh. Does it make me weird that this video made me legitimately excited? Like, not turned-on-excited (should probably clarify that so you guys don’t think I’m THAT weird) but, like, I got all mushy feeling and I almost wanted to shed a tear. I just love zombies so, so much. It’s a bit ridiculous. When the “Viral Zombie” was debuted I literally yelled “FUCK YEAH!” to no one but myself and then I realized #foreveralone.

Of course, this video is a thing of the marketing variety for Techland’s upcoming Dying Light expansion called Dying Light: The Following, and the all-in-one bundle (meaning you get the original game AND the DLC) called Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition. I’ve played Dying Light, and I freakin’ loved it. If you have buddies that you love to play co-op with you must MUST play Dying Light with them. (For what it’s worth, Dying Light made my top games of 2015 list on Game Informer.)

One of the biggest highlights of this year’s San Diego Comicon was moooost definitely the Call of Duty Zombies Escape Room shindig I did with my bros Kristine (who recorded this video!) and Raychul.

I don’t know if you guys have ever done an escape room like this before — let me know if you have — but it was hands-down the CLOSEST thing to an IRL video game I’ve ever experienced. Like, I felt like I had just walked into an unexplored room in Resident Evil. Y’know that feeling of “I know there’s a way out of here, I just HAVE to figure it out!” kinda thing. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?! Either way it gave me the extreme warm ‘n fuzzies. Except when the zombies busted through the walls. That kinda gave me the shits.

THIS IS SO FUCKING AMAZING I WANT TO CRY. IN FACT I HAVE TEARS POOLED IN MY EYES.

All the info you need is in the video above, but in short, the “Resident Evil 2 Remake” project has FINALLY been approved for development. Sadly, we won’t hear anything more on this for “some time” BUT THAT’S OKAY. We’ve waited this long (what, 16 years?) WE CAN WAIT ANOTHER ONE. Or two. But no more than two. I don’t think my body could handle it.

This is so swell, guys. Resident Evil 2 launched my zombie obsession back when I was in elementary school, and although it scarred me for four, five, six years, I still consider that game to be one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. Seriously. So much stemmed from me playing that game. (I’ve been meaning to make a video that goes into detail about this — maybe I’ll do that next week!)

LET’S FUCKING CELEBRATE.
