This going to make sound like the resident weirdo, but I’ve actually never played a 3D Zelda game before. I’ve played almost all of the 2D ones, but the last Nintendo console I owned was the SNES (long story) so I’ve missed out on all of Link’s 3D shenanigans. Thus, I doubt Zelda would be the thing to do it for me (until I finally play one and it BLOWS MY MIND and then I finally jump on the 3D Zelda train).

I’m not really sure what it would take. It might end up being something completely out of the blue (for example, the game that made me finally want to get a Vita was Gravity Rush, which is a completely new property from Sony), or it could be a really strong third party exclusive (like a Bayonetta 2, except from a franchise I actually care more about).

I don’t like the idea of co-op in Zelda. It has always been a single player game and it should stay that way. However, I also realize that Nintendo USUALLY does well even when they shake up the formula, so I’m willing to give it a shot. Regardless of anything else, both the remake of Wind Waker and the new Zelda are going to be gorgeous.
As for Mario, I’ve never been a big fan, but do like the 3D Mario games a lot better than the 2D (especially because I hate time limits on platformers since I suck so bad at them). So chances are good that I would buy a 3D Mario for Wii U. With Mario Kart, the only thing I don’t look forward to is the simple fact that I still haven’t gotten the most out of Mario Kart 7 (which is pretty fantastic). Of course, HD Mario Kart…still sounds awesome.
EDIT: And…dat Monolith RPG…looks fantastic. I was practically drooling. A game that pretty that’s published by Nintendo is what I’ve been wanting to see.

In reply to Nate Bishop. And I'm heartily in agreement with you! I feel the same way. Unless they have some sort of optional, like, Navi character -- kind of like how they do it with the mini star in Mario Galaxy.
