Xbox One Backward Compatibility List

Next-gen consoles are neat, guys. They’re powerful, rad, sexy and allow us to play (what are supposed to be) shinier iterations and new installments of our favorite franchises. That said, one of the suckier parts of next-gen consoles is the typical lack of backwards compatibility with their older counterparts. Granted, I understand that (sometimes) backwards compatibility juuuust can’t happen because next-gen console guts are newer and fancier and PSHHH they don’t have time for pleb-y last-gen shenanigans, but still, when you have a large backlog and limited TV stand space it’s like…bro. I NEED BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY.

(Did you understand all that? If so, congrats — you now speak Britt.)

So you can imagine I squealed like a puberty-ridden teenager at her first Backstreet Boys concert (I was one of those once) when Microsoft announced (limited) backward compatibility with the Xbox One/Xbox 360 at E3. That was about five months ago, and finally, today, we have a confirmed list of compatible titles that’ll be ready for your lovin’ starting on November 12th.

  1. I wish Sony would do this. Right now i have a PS2, PS3 and PS4 all hanging out in my TV stand. At least the early PS3s had backwards compatibility. That was nice until my first PS3 died a horrible death.
