Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition <3

Hey, friends. This is me doing a PSA telling/ordering/commanding/imploring/begging/pleading you to check out the 2013 Tomb Raider if you have yet to do so. I never wrote a review because this thing called Bioshock Infinite took control of my life, but Tomb Raider was one of my favoritest favority games of 2013. If you dig the Uncharted series, you’ll dig Tomb Raider. And if you don’t dig Uncharted because you’ve never owned a PS3, then just take my word for it and get the game on your Xbox. <3.

If you’re “BWUUUUH?”-ing, think of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as a super sexified Tomb Raider. I assume you’ve watched the trailer so I won’t go into too many details, but IGN has an awesome preview of TR:DE that has my blood flowing in my nether parts. In this build Lara is even smexier (have you seen that hair?!) (she, uh, also visibly sweats if you’re into that) but what’s more are the environments are even smexier, which is a thing I didn’t know could happen. Every texture in the island of Yamatai has been overhauled, boosted and given an overall injection of awesome, and because there are so many things to find and explore on the island separate of the main story methinks this overhaul will NOT go unappreciated. You could probably, like, just walk around and immerse yourself in the beauty. If your significant other is all, “I WANT TO GET AWAY!” you can just fire up your HDTV and be all, “BABY LET’S GO VACATION ON YAMATAI.” where you can build campfires and kill people and shit. Cheapest vacation ever? I THINK SO.

While I’d love nothing more than to revisit Lara in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, I’m totally and completely content with the experience I had on the Xbox 360 aaaand I may or may not have a backlog a thousand titles long on my to-do list. But if you’re ready for round two or, hell, your FIRST round you need need NEEEEEDDDDDDDDD Tomb Raider (and Lara) in your life.

DO IT! <3

  1. Well, once I get a PS4 my first project is Arkham Origins, now Tomb Raider is on that list before I get Watch Dogs and InFamous.

  2. Tomb Raider was fantastic :) this was my first Tomb Raider game (though I now own all the original PS1 games) and so it was a great experience :) Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics (or whoever) did a great job :)
