I’m kind of diving head-first into all of this VR shenaniganry. (I don’t think that’s a word WELL IT IS NOW.) I have an Oculus on the way as well as a Vive – and I’m pretty sure I’ll purchase a PlayStation VR as soon as pre-orders go live.
VR has always piqued my interest. Hell, several years ago when I was offered an appointment with Oculus (which, at that time, was being held together by duct tape) I jumped on it and walked away from the meeting feeling excited, but still on the fence. It wasn’t until I demoed the PlayStation VR last summer along with a title called Edge of Nowhere (you can see a few seconds of it in the video!) that I walked away thinking, like, ” Yeah, this shit’s legit.” It was just so insanely immersive and ENHGHHHH it’s hard explaining VR. fadjkjfkldsajfas.
So, yeah. I have many ‘a VR headsets coming my way. Thus I kiiiind of care about the launch titles. From the above video, these are the ones that I’m most interested in:
- Windlands
- Chronos
- Edge of Nowhere
- Dreadhalls
- Dead Secret
- Esper 2
- Albino Lullaby
- The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
- The Climb
Granted, these are just being promoted via Oculus’ channel, but I’m pretty sure these will be available for other VR headsets. Like, when it comes to The Climb the Vive allows you use the hand controller thingies to climb the mountain, which looks way more immersive than a regular controller. I’m also trying to get a review copy of Chronos. Fingers crossed!
ANYWAAAAAY let me know if any of these titles look appealing to you, or if you’re like, “BOOO VR” and such.
The creator of DayZ and these two podcasters make a lot of the same points that I’ve been making for a while now on VR.
