Okay– mad, livid, infuriating and angry props are currently being directed toward this announcement video because that shit was golden. I mean, sure I’m upset there won’t be a live press conference for E3 media to attend, but how can one be upset when one sees Reggie Fils-A-MECH?!
The video in a nutshell:
- Nintendo will be streaming a “digital event” online in lieu of a live press conference. Basically, this sounds like another, perhaps fancier, Nintendo Direct at 9 am on June 10th
- A Super Smash Bros. Invitational Tournmanet will be held in the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. More details to come
- Best Buy stores around the country will be holding their own Super Smash Bros. tournament during the show
- Nintendo will be streaming “Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3” live from the show floor, which will showcase spiffy demos and all that jazz
ALRIGHTY! Colored me excited. Again, I’d rather sit in the theatre and watch the presentation live, but I can’t hate because IT’S NINTENDO people. Honestly, no matter what format they decide to use, I just want it to workand I want some wind back in ‘dem sails. The Wii U is, well, it’s a thing, and it’s a thing that isn’t doing well. SO BLOW OUR MINDS, NINTENDO. OOZE ZELDA ALL OVER MY FACE AND SMASH BROTHERS ALL OVER MY BODY.
…too much?
So, whatch’u think about this?
I like the move. I personally don’t get why E3 gets big every few years just to be ignored again. I’m more excited for Nintendo to step up their game than to have something flashy at E3.
So long as there’s news of some kind and the Wii U is still being supported, I’ll be happy.
Nintendo is trying to create some hype. I’m glad that they’re not just rolling over. I will be getting Smash on WiiU at some point but I have a hard time convincing myself to get it at the current price of the WiiU. I don’t know how they can turn around public perception to the point that WiiU doesn’t just wreck the company, though.
“Ooze Zelda all over my face and Smash Brothers all over my body” may well be the best thing ever written as far as I am concerned. It is better than Felicia Day. We need to make it a song somehow.
Nintendo is going to rock this E3
Too hell with Golden, that was PLATINUM!
