Because I recently went into a minor rant about microtransactions, I felt like it was relevant to blog about Activision’s latest announcement: microtransactions are coming to Black Ops II tomorrow.
In all fairness — and I never thought I would say this — I think Activision is handling this microtransaction business quite fairly. Take a look at the “micro items” below and let me know if you agree or disagree:
- Personalization Pack: Each pack as a unique weapon camo, three targeting reticles, custom calling card. $2.00/160 MS Points.
- Extra Slots Pack: 10 extra Create-a-Class loadout slots, plus room for 20 more emblems, 32 films, and 40 screenshots. $2.00/160 MS Points.
- Flags of the World Calling Card Pack: National flag themed calling cards. $1.00/80 MS Points.
Admittedly I’m a super casual COD player, but it appears to me that none of the above micro-things will affect gameplay with the exception the 10 extra loadout slots. I mean, I don’t even know what that is but it sounds like something a little advantageous.
There is way too much bullshit happening in that picture…
For an Search and Destroy match yes it is.
