You know what’s a weird feeling? Your throat when it’s all swollen and shit. Do you know what’s an even weirder feeling? Not being able to talk because it feels like Dodongo himself breathed molten fire down your throat, but hey, that’s okay because you have a blog SO WHO NEEDS SPOKEN WORDS.
So, yeah. I woke up this morning (around 3:30, to be exact) (does that even make sense?) with a sore throat. There’s irony in this. Mere hours before I was on the phone speaking with my mom, who has been battling a terrible cold for the past few days. I wanted to stop by and visit her tonight before I fly out to Florida (more on that in a bit) but we decided it would be best if I didn’t because, y’know, I don’t want to get sick right before my vacation and at that time I felt perfectly healthy.
Ha. Ha. FUCK YOU LIFE YOU THINK YOU’RE SO FUNNY.
But anyway, in a few days I’m flying to Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights and despite my impending illness (right now I show no other symptoms) I couldn’t be more excited. For those of you scratching your beards and/or, uh, hairless chin, Halloween Horror Nights is a thing that happens at Universal Studios every year and it consists of pure awesomeness. Pure awesomeness = amazingly themed awesome haunted houses. This will be my first year, so other than seeing the houses I don’t know what to expect, but I’m sure it’s going to be nothing short of epic. (DON’T JUDGE ME FOR USING THE WORD EPIC. I THINK IT’S STILL A RAD WORD.)
The seller, of course, are the houses and the TV shows/movies/urban legends they’re based on. Here are some photos from the actual sets:

The other houses are based off of An American Werewolf in London, La Llorona, Havoc Derailed and After Life Death’s Vengeance.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: the Resident Evil: Escape from Raccoon City attraction is going to be, like, a huge bucket list item for me. There were countless times when I was younger I thought it would be SO cool to explore Raccoon city, loot around, find emblems and of course, shoot zombies. While I may not be able to, uh, kill anything it’s still going to be a HUGE deal for yours truly and this is likely to be the closest I’ll ever get to fulfilling that childhood fantasy. (Yeah, I was a weird kid I’M SO GLAD I’M NOT WEIRD ANYMORE.)
EEEEEE! I’ll likely see a few of the houses this Sunday, so prepare yourself for a buttload of photos. I’ll probably be crying in them, kind of like how I did when I saw Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys for the first time. Yeah. It’s going to be quite grand.
Do you ever do anything special for Halloween? I’m ALL about the haunted houses, corn mazes and pumpkin patches. <3
Halloween is my favorite. I’m so jealous this does look to be pretty epic (yes, I am quite fond of that word as well) make sure to take a buttload of pics so I can pretend I experienced it ;________;
