Final Fantasy XV: FUCKING SQUEE

YOU GUYS. YOU. GUYS.

I can’t recall the last time I was *this* excited for a Final Fantasy title. Like, I really can’t. I can’t quite pinpoint why I’m so goddamn stoked, seeing as I know close to nothing about the game, but my guess it has something to do with the (apparent) group of rambunctious dudes in the car which translates to me as diverse, funny, interesting characters. Sure, the combat looks swell (I’m not a combat fanatic so whatever), the idea of a day/night cycle could be cool, but…- jdakfjdalkfjdlkafdl. WHAT IS IT. WHAAAAAAAAAAAT IS ITTTTTTTTTTT.

FFXV

It’s totally the characters. Honestly, if I have a good group of characters (paired with anything above sub-par story) I’m gonna be hooked. I loved Final Fantasy IX — it’s my favorite in the series — and whenever I reflect upon my first experience with that game (which was over 13 years ago) the FIRST thing that comes to mind are the characters.  I loved the banter between Steiner and Zidane, Quina’s hilarious dialogue, the awkward Vivi and oh-so-innocent Garnet who didn’t know how to handle Zidane’s flirtatious antics…ahhh. Good. Shit.

Sure, I’m totally jumping the gun, and I know it. Like I said, I don’t know diddly about Final Fantasy XV (besides its crazy history) but seeing a lively group of characters in the trailer is enough to get me excited until I’m given a reason to feel otherwise. Nah’mean?

  1. So let’s see…copies of Zach, Cloud, Zell, a male Quistis, Rosa, and a Bentley coming across the Dragon Queen from “How to Train Your Dragon”.

…yeah, I’m sorry, the last FF I generally liked was X, and that was still crap compared to VI. I’m not digging this at all.

  2. Not feeling very Final Fantasy to me (maybe it is the car honestly?) but it still looks ahmayzing D: I’m intrigued!

  3. When I saw the trailer for this the first thing I said in the words of stewie griffin “sayyyy whatttt!!!?????” the world looked awesome and that giant creature!

  4. The world looks goddamn amazing. I’m just really hoping the whole game isn’t spent riding in a car. If I don’t get to ride a giant chicken (just because they call it a Chocobo doesn’t mean it’s not just a giant chicken) I’m going to rage…I might even start the revolution. Who’s with me?!
