Hollowpoint’s gameplay may look a bit wonky — after all, a 2.5D, tactical shooter with a progression system is a bit out of the ordinary — but after playing for a good 20 or so minutes, trust me when I say it’s a blast (no, uh, pun intended?) especially when playing with a friend. It’s beautiful madness. I’d be taking cover while returning fire to an enemy in the inaccessible “D” part of the 2.5D level, while my partner would be flanking those to our right. At one point he went down, so I needed to hop across several platformer-esque objects in order to get to him and thus revive him. When that was done, we both realized we were out of ammo, so we ran like madmen to our left, only to be cornered by another incoming wave. It was great.
Players assume the role of a skilled mercenary. The world has gone to shit, and you, dear pawn, are thrown into the middle of corporate warfare, doing the bidding for them. THEY’RE USING YOU. But that’s okay, because money is money, right?
Hollowpoint is coming to PC and PS4 later this year.
not something ill be getting honestly but at least you enjoyed it.
