Britt5091 Origins: Reason #521 why I love summer…garage sales! And here’s why.

Welcome to Britt5091: Origins, where I dig up old blog posts I used to write for IGN’s community under the username Britt5091. Some posts may make you giggle, some may make your eyes bleed, and some may make you stroke your beard in a pensive manner. All you need to know is that these posts, no matter how terrible some of them may be, ultimately lead to everything I do now.

Reason #521 why I love summer…garage sales! And here’s why.

July 26th,2009

Not bad for $15, eh?
I can finally say I have an Atari! And a less than stellar boxed copy of Earthworm Jim!

I really don’t need a Playstation…but oh well.

Eeee…two of my fave RPGs.

Laugh all you want boys and girls but I tell you what, I’ve gotten some of my favorite games at garage sales.

About a month ago, I purchased a CD holder full of RPGs such as FF7-9, Wild Arms 1 & 3, Alundra, Breath of Fire 3, Dragon Warrior 7, Dragon Quest 8 and some others I can’t remember for $5. The cases weren’t included but who cares!

I know, I know…going to garage sales tends to have the…er…’womanly’ stereotype. BUT…if you ever have a free Saturday morning and able to function from Friday night, bring about 20 bucks in cash and visit a few of these sales. You’ll be surprised what you can come back with.

I’m suprised more gamers don’t do this. Anyone else game hunt at garage sales and gotten any sweet deals?

Britt’s Note:

There are no words to describe this epic haul. Let’s just sit back and admire.

::cue the sound of admiration::

I want to say this was my very first garage sale haul post.

::cue the sound of reflection::

It’s funny to think that I’ve been posting about my love affair with garage sales for over two years now…it seems like I made this post only yesterday!

Sadly, it’s been a while since I scored a haul so amazing, but hopefully the summer of 2012 will be a good one, which will allow me to make many a’ more posts and videos! <3333

  1. I never have thought about going to garage sales for games until I came across your videos which led me here! I live in Michigan and once spring/summer hits there’s about ten million garage/yard sales everywhere, every weekend. Since you’ve inspired me I’ll defiantly be going to a bunch this year. Is there anything that’s on your wishlist to find? I wouldn’t be opposed to keeping a eye out!

  2. I live in an old-people town. They don’t have games at garage sales here, just sweaters and drapes. Total lameness.
