Barry Burton Says OHAI In Resident Evil Revelations 2

LOVE ME SOME BARRY BURTON. That said, there was a moment during the first Resident Evil when I thought he was a traitorous bastard. But hey, it’s ALL GOOD because **spoiler** it was just Wesker being a manipulative douche. So, y’know. That old chestnut. (I remembered many folks may soon be playing Resident Evil for the first time due to the re-remake, so I whited out the spoiler-esque text. Whiiich isn’t very useful because the background of this page is grey. To which I say fair enough.)

So! Fellow lovers of the Burt-man rejoice, as Capcom has announced he will be a playable character in Resident Evil Revelations 2. See, Moira (who is “adventuring” with Claire) is his daughter and he’s all, “AW HELL NO I GOTTA RESCUE MY SPAWN!” and such. But Barry won’t be alone. Nay, he’ll be teamed up with newcomer Natalia Korda, a “little girl who has a strange power that allows her to sense enemies and hidden items.” Well, that sounds useful.

Also being introduced are The Rotten and The Revenant. The Rotten “have bones that are visible through their bodies and stop at nothing to hunt down the living” and the Revenant “are formed from parts of human beings sewn together.”

Fucking lovely.

Here’re the episodic launch dates:

launch schedAnd don’t forget, the Complete Season can be purchased for $24.99 to receive additional content, or you can wait to purchase a full retail box set on March 10th, 2015 for $39.99 to receive even more additional content. (Spin-off episodes, Raid mode characters, costumes, etc.) I’m a bit peeved by this model, but hey. I know I’ll end up buying everything anyway.

  1. I’m really not a fan of episodic content. It makes sense for smaller indie devs, but for big ones like Capcom it just makes them look lazy. That said, I am intrigued by the prospect of playing a RE game on Steam…

    • I wasn’t too happy about it at first either. At least there’s the option to get the full retail box set. But that requires patience.
