IllumiRoom Looks Awesome

Ever since I can remember I’ve fapped to the thought of my blonde ass being inserted into a video game. In fact, I wrote a blog post in 2009 about which game I’d most want to be ported into. It’s SUCH a fun idea to think about! ::bites lip:: HMMFFF I sense I’m about to go off on a tangent about how KICKASS it would be to play as Link in Ocarina of Time, but before I digress more than I have I’ll move on.

IllumiRoom isn’t quite what I had in mind, but it seems like a logical first step, right? That being said, I understand why people are a bit skeptical at the moment, especially since we won’t know a heckuva lot more until the ACM SIGCHI Conference this April. IGN has a fantastic article up right now weighing the pros and cons (mostly cons) that I highly suggest you check out.

While my technical expertise isn’t quite on par as some of yours, I imagine one would need a projector of sorts to make this happen. And, um, honestly, if this thing was being sold on market right now I would SO buy it AND a projector. In a HEARTBEAT. Could you imagine playing a medieval video game (COUGH DRAGON AGE III COUGH) and being surrounded by the vast fields of Thedas? Or perhaps by a bustling town? AHHH! See? I’m becoming giddy just thinking about it. That being said, I like to think I’m pretty logical and know there are bound to be drawbacks, but until I hear about those I’m going to continue living in my fantasy land.

Mind racing…

What do you think about IllumiRoom? Is it something you could see yourself using?

Yeah, I think after we hear more in April we can make more solidified opinions.
