How I’m spending *most* of my Saturday

Alright, this is probably going to sound super lame, but I am going to a HUGE garage sale this morning, and I am fuckin’ ecstatic.

Sure, ruffling through old and dusty belongings of others may not sound the most appealing, but let me tell you sir or madam; you can find some glorious treasures. I, of course, only go to garage sales for the hunt of vintage video games. My mom and grandma—my garage saling partners in crime— are into very different things, but nevertheless, it’s a fun way to spend time together.

So yes, today marks the first day of official Garage Sale Season (for the record, I made that up. There is no official day that commences garage saling. But that would be awesome) and I am hoping that I come across many expensive and vintage games. <33333.

A short list of games that would make me shat myself I ever found them at a garage sale

  • Earthbound
  • Panzer Dragoon Saga
  • Chrono Trigger (SNES)
  • Super Mario RPG
  • Stadium Events
  • Nintendo World Championships
  • Air Raid
  • Harvest Moon (SNES)
  • EVO: Search for Eden

I mean, those are just a few. I already own Earthbound, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Super Mario RPG and Harvest moon, but come oooon they’re games a girl could always use an extra  copy of. Also, my new motto is to buy every NES cartridge I come across, because I swear those bastards are selling for more and more money every day! Not that I’d ever sell them. Oh no.

Wish me luck!

Garage sales can be awesome when you find some gems (like super metroid for 2$),
but most often I’ve just been disappointed.

Hopefully your luck will be better then mine 😛

  • Well…it clearly wasn’t. LOL! Next weekend, though!

haha! if you found a copy of Nintendo world Champs (especially the gold) at a garage sale, Gamer nerds everywhere would collectively shat in unison as this would signify the end times. Your blog is making me wanna thrift shop it up though! Sadly my town is slim pickings when it comes to old gaming systems and equip. I had to struggle to find a SNES gamepad for almost a year (as I refuse to buy it online..I’m weird like that.)
