Britt5091 Origins: I finally broke down…

Welcome to Britt5091: Origins, where I dig up old blog posts I used to write for IGN’s community under the username Britt5091. Some posts may make you giggle, some may make your eyes bleed, and some may make you stroke your beard in a pensive manner. All you need to know is that these posts, no matter how terrible some of them may be, ultimately lead to everything I do now.

I finally broke down…

June 11, 2009

YAAAAH!!

OMG. I am so giddy I can’t contain myself.

I’m heading out in a few hours to get accessories and a game or two. So c’mon people, what should my first PS3 game be!?!

Britt’s Note:

Ahhh. I remember June 11th, 2009 like it was yesterday. The scorching summer sun was out, birds were singing, thighs were sticking to leather car seats and I was heading to my parents’ house from Seattle. I had been hoping for a PS3 price drop at E3, which we all know DIDN’T HAPPEN, and I had been grumbling about it the entire drive home. Along the way, a wild hair somehow found its way up my ass and I thought, “You know what? Fuck it. I’m buying a PS3 TODAY.” I turned off at the next exit and waltzed into Fred Meyer.

So there I was  in my mini-skirt, neon yellow tank top and high heels marching through Freddys. I was on a mission, and no one was going to stop me. The sense of pride I felt while stomping out of that store lugging out a box almost bigger than me still makes me smile. <3333

Unfortunately, the weight of the PS3 threw off my balance and I tripped in the parking lot. That was kind of embarassing.

In the end, what was your first PS3 game, out of interest?

    • I think I originally rented LBP and Uncharted, but I think the first game I purchased was Uncharted.

Haha, I think this is the first post of yours that I’d read back then. That was two years already? Damn.

Remember those old days when you could play online with your PS3? It’s funny how much the world changes so much in such a short time, lol.
